WHO WE ARE

Brian Gant

Born and raised in St. Louis, MO, Dr. Gant began his educational studies at Maryville University St. Louis, where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems (03’) while also playing collegiate basketball for the institution. Dr. Gant earned a Master’s in Management, Fontbonne University (04’), Master’s in Human Services, Capella University (11’) and a Doctorate in Higher Education Leadership, Maryville University St. Louis (21’). His dissertation focused on “Cyberbullying in eSports: A Hermeneutic Phenomenological Approach to Examining Student-Athlete and Administrator Perceptions.”

Dr. Gant began his professional career in law enforcement (04’) with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) as an Intelligence Analyst working cyber, domestic terrorism, & public corruption. He continued service over the next 5 years with the FBI until (09’), when he joined the ranks of the U.S. Secret Service (USSS) as a Special Agent working domestic and international assignments, to include protection of Former President Barack Obama and Bill Clinton as well as critical systems protection, & electronic/cyber-crimes. Dr. Gant accepted an appointment to become a full-time Assistant Professor in (20’) at the Simon School of Business, Maryville University St. Louis. He has a son (Tyler) and a daughter (Dawson) who also reside with him in St. Louis, MO area
